Tori-kun | 鳥君17歳

Well, that’s me, Tori-kun. Started learning Japanese a few years ago (the exact point was.. forgotten due.. erm, kanji, right, this is embarrassing!), but learnt with less efford and continuity. As far as I can tell my next realistic goal (see above, sometimes updated!) is the JLPT3 this year. Currently still visiting school and trying my best on Japanese.
The reason why I learn Japanese is, I thought why not mastering an Asian language (and I chosed Japanese and not Chinese, because they have kana, that’s it, haha) as I am fluent in German and Russian. Concerning English I cannot rate my level of “nativeness” yet, but I think it’s on the best way to fluency. Therefore every post will be written in English (ohoh). Before I forget, I had latin in school for 5 years now, so this influenced me a lot, too.

My next Goal
Well, my next – realistic – goal is mastering the JLPT3 fully, speak, Grammar and Vocab respectively and finally getting the problematic ‘ha’ vs. ‘ga’ thing into my head. (I know this will take its time. Long time.) The reason this blog is called “dondon” (jap. “steadily”) is that my aim is pretty simple – keeping up steadily with Japanese!

Moreover:

  • Mining “Alice in Wonderland”, or at least saving vocabulary with the “s” function using Rikaichan in Mozilla FireFox (Recommendation: Get this addon. It’s cool :))
  • Reading “Le Petit Prince” in Japanese while listening to its coherent Audio file
Working more with my Kenkyusha Jisho and looking up more stuff on the internets in Japanese
  • On top of that, finishing core6k and extending my vocabulary knowledge :) Currently just learning vocab and exposing myself to audio of any kind
  • Talking about this topic I can say that following still needs to be done.
1) Beginner – JLPT 4 equivalent level
  • Kana using Remember the Kana; an Anki Deck is available
  • RTK using 2001KO 1-555 Kanji; an Anki Deck is available
  • Tae Kim – Basic – kind of..
  • Core 2k step 1&2 sorted; an Anki Deck is available – LONG TIME AGO!! Haha..
  • Subs2srs 1 hour of an easy drama/anime – “Nobody Knows” (2004) perhaps using the transcript?
  • Roughly 150 hours of actual study/review time

Currently:
  • JLPT3.anki Deck: 21,34 hours
  • Misc.anki Deck: 5,35 hours
  • RtK2.anki Deck: 19,52 hours
  • (FORMER Genki 1.anki deck: 20,62 hours) – included
Sum: 66,83 hours

2) Basic – JLPT 3 equivalent level
  • Tae Kim Essential; an Anki Deck is available
  • Subs2srs 1 hour of an easy drama/anime
  • 1st 800 of sorted Core 2k step 3-10; an Anki Deck is available – Dunno if it were the first 800, just took all
  • Subs2srs 1 hour of an easy drama/anime
  • Add to RTK using 2001KO 556-1110 Kanji
  • Tae Kim Special
  • Subs2srs 1 hour of an easy drama/anime
    2nd 800 of sorted Core 2k step 3-10
  • Subs2srs 1 hour of an easy drama/anime
  • Roughly 200-300 hours of actual study/review time
